How the test is performed

Step 1: Review the symptom pattern

Step 2: Prepare for blood sampling

Step 3: Provide the blood sample

What the test does not diagnose

Symptoms such as rapidly developing hives, swelling of the lips or throat, wheezing, breathing difficulty, repeated vomiting, dizziness or collapse after eating require an allergy-focused medical assessment. Severe breathing difficulty, throat swelling or collapse requires urgent medical care.

The panel also does not diagnose celiac disease, lactose intolerance, fructose malabsorption, inflammatory bowel disease, infection or irritable bowel syndrome. These conditions require their own clinical assessment and, where appropriate, targeted blood tests, breath testing, stool testing, endoscopy or specialist evaluation.

Persistent bowel changes, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, fever, anemia, repeated nighttime symptoms or progressively worsening abdominal pain should not be managed only through food restriction or IgG testing.

Who may consider this test

The test may be considered by adults with recurrent symptoms that seem related to meals, especially when several foods are suspected and a broader laboratory overview is requested. It is most useful when the patient understands that the result is exploratory and must be interpreted together with clinical information.
