
Dr. Nenad Jakusic
Qualifications
In 1996, he founded Hrabri telefon, a helpline for abused and neglected children. He is a co-founder and former secretary of the Croatian Association for Abused and Neglected Children and has been involved in numerous projects related to the prevention of child abuse, assistance to war victims, and drug addiction prevention.
Experience
He completed postgraduate studies in psychotherapy at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine and earned a master's degree in 1992. His psychotherapeutic training includes individual and group psychoanalytic therapy, transactional analysis, and therapy for post-traumatic conditions in children and adults. He also participated in the international "The Children’s Mental Health Alliance" program, focusing on child abuse and neglect.
Membership
From 1996 to 2013, he was a member of the expert body for child assessment at the Ministry of Social Welfare and, from 2016 to 2023, a member of the Commission for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has been a long-time lecturer for family medicine residents and a mentor to pediatric and neuropediatric subspecialists. He is also a member of the Ministry of Health's team for minors who are transgender and a member of several professional societies under the Croatian Medical Association.
