Fat transfer

About

Fat transfer is primarily used for facial contouring, correcting under-eye hollows, treating scars and deformities, breast reshaping, and many other applications. Some individuals have misconceptions about fat, thinking it is inert tissue with little activity and no significant role. However, the importance of fatty tissue has only recently begun to be understood. We are not fully aware of how crucial fat tissue is and how active it is in metabolism, with many essential processes occurring within fat tissue itself. We are at the beginning of discovering the true importance of fat in our bodies.

For many years now, fat transfer has been successfully used for aesthetic purposes, providing the best possible results in shaping and correcting specific body areas. After fat transfer treatment, it won't be obvious that you've had a facial aesthetic procedure; instead, you will look fresh and rested, with the secret of your youthful appearance remaining yours. Fat transfer restores a look similar to five to ten years ago and effectively slows down aging, aiming to maintain a natural facial appearance.

Candidate

Candidates for this treatment are individuals who want to restore lost facial volume, improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles or scars, and alleviate hyperpigmentation.

Preparation

Two weeks before the treatment, it is necessary to stop taking aspirin or any other supplements that affect blood clotting, as well as medications that prevent inflammation, as their contents can cause bleeding. During consultations, discuss your medical conditions, allergies to medications or food, and the use of specific medications with your doctor.

Treatment

After applying local anesthesia to the patient, the procedure begins with the extraction of fatty tissue, typically from areas such as the abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, knees, or groin. The harvested tissue is immediately processed to prepare it for application. It's crucial to begin processing promptly to keep the fat viable and ensure that as much fat as possible is retained during application. The collected tissue is mixed with an infiltration solution and cellular remnants. The extracted fatty tissue undergoes processing in a specialized device. The processed fatty tissue is then injected into various layers of soft tissue in the face or body, depending on the issue, using multiple directions. The duration of the procedure varies based on the amount and type of fatty tissue and also depends on the technique used.

Result

When fatty tissue is properly applied and processed, the results are long-lasting. While we cannot say they are lifelong, they are durable. The final outcome of the entire procedure becomes evident within 6 months to a year.
